Dress

Ujaduba Igoon (Skirt)

This skirt is a key component of the Deori women’s attire. It is designed to wrap tightly around the waist, providing a secure fit, while hanging loosely down to cover the breast. Its design not only offers modesty but also allows for ease of movement, which is essential in their daily lives.

Jokachhiba (Sheet)

Worn around the waist, the Jokachhiba adds layers to the ensemble while providing additional coverage and adornment. Its role is not only functional but also aesthetic, as it contributes to the overall elegance of the attire.

Riha (Tegihra)

The Riha, also known as Tegihra, is a traditional outfit worn by Deori women. It complements the skirt and sheet, completing the ensemble with its unique design and cultural significance. It adds vibrancy and intricacy to their attire, showcasing the craftsmanship and artistry of their culture.

Ikhoon (Loin Cloth)

At home, Deori men typically wear the Ikhoon, a simple yet essential garment that provides comfort and freedom of movement. Its minimalistic design reflects the practicality of everyday wear within the household environment.

Trousers and Shirt

When venturing outside of their home or village, Deori men opt for trousers and a shirt, offering both functionality and style. The choice of white cloth for their attire reflects tradition and cultural preferences, highlighting the significance of color symbolism in their community.
