Tiwa
The Tiwa tribe, once known as the Lalung tribe, is a significant ethnic group in Assam. They are part of the Mongolian ethnic group and belong to the Tibeto-Burman linguistic group, with ties to the Bodo-Naga tribes. The name "Tiwa" originates from the words "ti" meaning water and "wa" meaning superior, reflecting their connection to water and perhaps their reverence for it.

Mising
The Mising tribe, also known as Miri, predominantly resides along the riverbanks of Assam, particularly in the districts of Dhemaji and Lakhimpur. They are famous for their agricultural practices, distinct traditional attire, and the Ali-Ai-Ligang festival, which celebrates the sowing of paddy. The Misings have a rich oral tradition and a deep connection to their natural surroundings.

Bodo
The Bodo tribe, one of the largest ethnolinguistic groups in Assam, is known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant festivals. They primarily inhabit the Bodoland Territorial Region and are renowned for their traditional music, dance, and weaving. The Bodos have a unique history and language, contributing significantly to Assam's cultural mosaic.
